More About Me

As a Topeka native, I knew I would eventually find myself working in residential real estate. I love what HOME represents. To me, it is a welcoming, stable, safe place where memories are made and sometimes even literally etched in the walls.

Early on I was drawn to architectural design but quickly realized I wasn’t interested in studying the Durability and Utility principles as much as the Beauty principle. Can you make a career out of simply admiring the designed environment!? Probably not. Life Happened and marriage took me to North Carolina where my husband, Phil Johnson (now also a licensed real estate agent) proudly served at Fort Bragg. I was fortuitously hired to work in the rental department of a large franchise real estate company. While working adjacent to the many different personality types of real estate professionals, I began to realize my own career goal.

Well, Life Happened again and we found ourselves starting a family back in Kansas. Back home securing a steady paycheck took precedence over pursuing my dream job. I again was lucky to continue working in the industry as the office manager for one of the best local home inspection companies. My years working for home inspectors helped solidify my career choice. I wanted to work with people and help them achieve their own goals doing so with integrity, compassion, and pride in my services.

I finally took the plunge into real estate 10 years ago and have never looked back. My client testimonials seem to have a theme - I’m a calming force in high-emotional situations, which is a key factor when negotiating through a tough transaction. A home is not just a house and I understand that. Whether you’re a first-time home buyer, searching for that forever home, adding to your investment portfolio, downsizing, or simply selling because Life Happens, I can handle the details and help make your real estate dreams a reality.
